BigRead12: Mark for Lent
Church Night during Lent is following BigRead12, part of the BigBible project.
You’ll probably remember that last year we heard a lot about the Biblefresh initiative – the movement of churches, agencies, organisations, colleges and festivals with a vision to reignite and re-enthuse the church in its confidence in, and passion for, the Bible. The BigBible Project has grown out of 2011’s Biblefresh and exists to promote Bible reading within a community setting.
As a complement to our Sunday series on Matthew’s Gospel, during Lent we are joining in with bigread12 which is part of the BigBible Project. We will be making use of Tom Wright’s Lent for Everyone on Tuesday evenings at Church Night. It’s not too late to join in – we’d love to see you!
And, whether you can join us on Tuesdays or not, you can also join in online via the web site. Each Wednesday we will be posting a digest of what happened on the previous evening. The first one is already available by clicking here. It would be great to have both lively discussion on Tuesday evenings and online conversations with one another as we follow the journey through Lent.
The subjects we are covering are listed below along with dates:
Tuesday 21 February – 1: Preparation
Tuesday 28 February – 2: Echoes
Tuesday 6 March – 3: Expectations
Tuesday 13 March – 4: Challenges
Tuesday 20 March – 5: Signposts
*Tuesday 27 March – Church AGM
Thursday 5 April – 6: Finale?
Tuesday 17 April – 7: Transformation
