It’s Christmastime in Faversham

Here are the words to FBC’s carol ‘It’s Christmastime in Faversham’ written by members of the church. We’ve been developing it and singing it over the last couple of weeks. Another verse has already been added (to follow) and if any other members of the church fancy having a go, we’ll publish the final version including all verses in a week or so.

It’s Christmastime in Faversham
(to the tune: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen)

It’s Christmastime in Faversham
Midst all the markets stalls
But here amongst the revelry
Another voice he calls
“Remember then as you begin
To deck the festive halls,
That Jesus, the Saviour King, is born
Jesus is born;
Now Jesus, the Saviour King, is born.”

This Jesus born in Bethlehem
Now reigns o’er all the Earth
From Boughton through to Bysing Wood,
We celebrate His birth
And all across the county,
Folk sing for all they’re worth
“This Jesus, the Saviour King, was born
Jesus was born;
Our Jesus, the Saviour King, was born”

Let’s sing of Christ our Saviour,
He’s coming back one day
To call home all who trust in Him,
Who follow in His way.
They’ll live with Him for evermore
Because on Christmas Day
This Jesus, the Saviour King, was born
Jesus was born;
Our Jesus, the Saviour King, was born.
