Stefano: BMS Action Team in Uganda

Stefano – one of our young church members – has joined the BMS World Mission Action Team programme for 2016-2017.

16ugacteam_320x21234 young Action Teamers have travelled from across the UK (and one from Germany) for a month of mission training before heading off to India, Thailand, Nepal, Italy, Uganda, Kosovo and Zimbabwe. After their training at IMC (Birmingham), the eight Action Teams will head off to their mission assignments around the world for six months. They’ll be helping trafficked women and working on farms, teaching English to street children and helping to empower the local church. While overseas, they will be supported by BMS workers and partners. On their return to the UK, they’ll be touring churches – sharing stories of the amazing ways God has worked in their lives and in the lives of those they’ve met and served.

Once training is over, Stefano and the rest of his team will be heading out to Uganda. Stefano’s team mates on the Uganda Team are Isaac from Godalming, Sophie from near Belfast and  Amy from Cowbridge. In their first blog post, they write:

“We’ve had a great time getting to know our training church in Harbourne, and are now recovering after few days of team building at Min-y-don Christian Adventure Centre in North Wales.”

The team asks for prayer for:

Bonding as a team, growing in faith and spiritual discipline
Preparing effectively for our time in Uganda, and fully engaging with the teaching during training
For our training church in Harbourne, that we would be able to serve them to the best of our ability, and that our presence would inspire the youth in the church
