Faversham Baptist Church (or FBC for short) is a friendly family church close to the centre of the historic market town of Faversham in the south east of England.

Our aim is to encourage one another in living out our Christian faith according to the teaching of the Bible, and to demonstrate the love of God in our community.

There are lots of answers to this question! Many people think that living in a country with a Christian background is enough to qualify, or perhaps it's all about being a 'good' person.

Baptists have been around in this country for a long time! Almost four hundred years ago a group of ordinary people led by Thomas Helwys fled from Britain to Amsterdam.

When a person is baptised in a Baptist church, they normally become a church member. Church members are called to prayerfully discern God's will for their shared life. Final authority does not rest with the ministers, deacons or any other local, national or international body, but with the members meeting together under God's guidance. Church meetings will make significant appointments including ministers, and agree financial policy and mission.

Our Membership Covenant was adopted at the Church Meeting on 20th May 2010.

The Minister of FBC is Rev Geoff Cook.
