2011-07-28: Kolkata Daily Digest

  • 08.30 @fabap Kolkata Team reporting. Day 5. After a humid night, this morning everyone has been washing their clothes. #

  • Today we are off to Thakurpukur Baptist Church School. I think Pastor Asis is coming with us in the jeep. #
  • 09.30 Bumping through the city of Kolkata in the BMS jeep. #
  • 11.20 Spent the morning at Thakurpukur Baptist Church school. Such dedicated teachers. Very inspiring! #
  • Enjoyed the Bengali chandesh and typically warm welcome. The children sang for us and we sang to them. #
  • If it had been a contest, we wouldn’t have won. #
  • 12.00 Stopped off at Kolkata recording studios of Trans World Radio, preparing broadcasts for NE India and beyond. #
  • 13.30 Back a little late for lunch. Then time for a short rest. #
  • Pray for Thakurpukur Baptist Church which is growing. And for its work in the community through the school. #
  • Pray also for the work of Trans World Radio in India, broadcasting the Good News in 62 languages. #
  • 15.00 Popped down to the Mother House, but exhibition and Mother Theresa’s room closed on Thursdays. Will return. #
  • 16.15 We will be attending the service at Colinga Baptist Church at 8am on Sunday, then going on to another church. #
  • Just been reading everyone’s comments on the blog again – Thank you one and all.  #
  • 18.00 Earlier team Time today. Sam led us yesterday, it’s Chris’ turn today. Praying for Kolkata and everyone at home. #
  • Reflecting on the dedication and sacrifice of the teachers at the school this morning. A church serving its community in Jesus’ name. #
  • 20.00 Team chilling now. The A/C and fans are on. Sam has his pack of cards. Let the games commence. #
  • Sad to hear that John Stott has died. What an influential man of God. He will be greatly missed. #
