Kolkata Team

Our Minister, Geoff Cook, first visited Kolkata with BMS World Mission in November 2009. During the summer of July 2011 a team of eight from FBC travelled with Geoff to the Indian city, meeting local Christians and experiencing first hand some of the projects and ministries they are engaged in.

In June 2012 FBC hosted a visit to the UK by Pastor Asis Sarkar of Colinga Baptist Church along with Mr Asit Ghose of the BMS Centre in Kolkata. As a result of all this, during July 2012, we launched a local project in Faversham (now a registered charity) called Khushi Feet, aiming to raise awareness and funds to support education for street children in Kolkata.

Whilst the Team were in Kolkata in 2011, they posted regularly in the Kolkata blog. You can read the posts here: Church Team to Kolkata 2011
