Throughout the summer of 2009, from May to October, about twenty youngsters from FBC and a couple of other churches have worked together as part of a project called The Noise in Faversham.

Each month has seen a “Ground Force” army of teenage volunteers tidy up local residents’ overgrown gardens, and helped to clear the litter from the grounds of Bysing Wood Community Centre. Work was arranged in conjunction with Swale Housing and local contacts. The project also received practical support from Swale Borough Council and funding from an anonymous donor.

Sam Cook, The Noise in Faversham Project Organiser, commented: “The Noise is a great way of demonstrating God’s love in action and getting young people involved in their community. It’s been great fun and hard work!”

Following the success of the summer project, there are already further plans for The Noise in Faversham next year.
