One thing that has struck me over the last two days is how important the family tree is to the writers of both the Old Testament and the Gospel of Matthew . In today’s society we may look into our ancestors as a hobby but to them it was who they were. Your family lineage was all important and taught to your offspring.

How many of us can name our Great Grandfathers let alone our Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfather?

What does this teach me about God? I’m not sure yet!
