Jesus is both Saviour and Lord. Sometimes it’s tempting to think we can inhabit a halfway house between the two. We’re happy for Jesus to be our Saviour, but not so keen on him being our Lord.

James would say that genuine faith must be put into practice, and will therefore be visible. Dynamic faith is real, it’s active, it’s living faith, it’s messy and it grows by being exercised.

God measures our spiritual progress not by huge battles won or lost but by a thousand daily skirmishes no one else really knows about.

Church is where we learn how to relate, where we work on our relationships with God and with others, where we learn how to be citizens of the kingdom and we become more like our King.

Knowing Jesus Christ is not just a one-time decision and you are done. Knowing Jesus Christ is a relationship where His people are growing in knowledge and love of Him.
