Exodus is the story of God’s action in the world, how he took a group of slaves, set them free, and then formed them into a new community, one which would model his kingdom of justice and peace based on his rule.

Jesus has inaugurated his Kingdom, salvation has come and Jesus himself is coming back.

Even kings and queens come and go, but Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus speaks of an old world being replaced by a new world; one reality is ending, a new reality is being birthed.

The mystery of you is that you are still being revealed; because Christ is still being revealed in you. You are changing, growing into the image of the one who created you. That is the mysterious force that is working within you, if you will let it.

Mark 13 is not about the ‘end of the world’. it is about the birth pain, the struggle of labour which happens as God’s kingdom breaks into history, through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, bringing great joy and new life.

The Jesus revolution is meant to be viral. It starts small, like a weed in a garden, but it spreads. It spreads one life to another, more and more people getting pulled into it. And the harder you try to get rid of it, the faster it spreads.

Whoever we are, we are separated from God. Only Jesus can, and has, obliterated the barrier between us and Him.
