This is the moment for apprentices to step forward. God is looking for a people who will love like Jesus loves - a community of his followers walking the way of Christ. Maybe that apprentice is you, and maybe that community is us.

The bedrock of the Christian faith is love, expressed through Jesus.

In the light of the mercy we have received from God, our lives and our minds are to be made new and we are to offer up our lives as a sacrifice, living in a way that pleases God.

There is a golden thread of lament that runs through the fabric of this week’s readings. It is rich and raw and powerfully expressed, deeply sad and yet strangely full of love and hope.

A love that overcomes, and changes our world. Love one another. Simple. If it’s all so easy, why do we find it so difficult?

Does our relationship with Jesus make a difference in our family, and particularly our married, relationships? What difference does it make? Paul gives us some practical instruction that will enable us to have relationships that honour God.

You can't survive spiritually without other Christians who support you, encourage you, pray for you, and help you grow into a strong follower of Jesus Christ.

Everyone wants to be part of a caring church. However, if we are going to be a caring church, the kind of church that makes an impact on people, each of us must learn to care for others.

When it comes to mature Christian behaviour, we are all a work in progress and none of us can claim to have arrived. Our aim is to please God ‘more and more’ by the way we choose to live out our lives.

Paul is more interested in the faith of the Thessalonians than anything else. Why so important? Why do we need to stand firm in the faith? What will stop us standing firm in the faith? And how do we stand firm in the faith?
