You are no more likely to 'accidentally' become a disciple of Jesus than to 'accidentally’ play Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit or find yourself ‘accidentally’ winning the 100m breaststroke Olympic final.

As apprentices of Jesus we have been given the assignment of announcing the good news and the coming of his kingdom.

This is the moment for apprentices to step forward. God is looking for a people who will love like Jesus loves - a community of his followers walking the way of Christ. Maybe that apprentice is you, and maybe that community is us.

Are you a Jesus fan or a Jesus follower? Are you serious about being apprenticed to Jesus? Who do YOU say he is?

Jesus has all the ingredients for a great picnic, the right moment, a memorable location, some good friends and more than enough food (as it turns out). What does all this tell us about him?

Jesus hasn't pitched up out of the blue - his arrival is 1800 years in the coming, and God has been working throughout.

A life following Jesus, in which we hear his words and put them into practice, requires discipline.

Who told you about Jesus? Who led you to faith? Who are you now leading to faith?

Jesus has inaugurated his Kingdom, salvation has come and Jesus himself is coming back.

Will we be spectators, or participants in the life of Jesus? Will we be Resurrection People?
